Seeking technical reviewers!
Now that the draft manuscript of We Need to Talk is ready, I’m looking for three people who’d be willing to give it a critical read.
Here are the qualities I’m looking for from those who review We Need to Talk:
You’re willing to take a deep, critical read, because you care. Not about me particularly (though I hope you do), but about the book and idea’s success.
You truly want to see people in our field have better conversations. Maybe you’ve struggled with this yourself.
You’re willing to give critical feedback from a perspective that I may have missed so that I don’t inadvertently give bad advice to someone.
I’m looking for people who fit the following categories:
Someone who is leading or mentoring and desperately wants the people they’re supporting to have more successful conversations.
Someone who is teaching UX design and knows that standard curricula focus on craft over people skills, and would like to have your book to give to each person who completes their program before they make their way into the dark, cruel world.
Someone who perhaps comes from psychology or, maybe even better, conflict resolution who could make sure the book’s advice conforms to the science or standard practice. I’ve tried my best and consulted a lot of studies, but I’m just one guy, you know?
If you think that’s you, please send me a note and let me know which category you fall into!
Given that I’ll take your comments seriously, I won’t be able to invite everyone to do a technical review. It’s not because I’m too cool (believe me when I say I’m not), it’s that it would be impossible to release this book if everyone contributed here.
As thanks, I can offer a heartfelt shoutout to you in the acknowledgements section of the book to show my appreciation!
